With a background as a photojournalist and years spent photographing school portraits and leading after-school photography clubs, I’ve found my true passion in working with children and families. I love the energy, honesty and the sparks kids can bring to a session.
Before we start shooting, I take a few minutes to connect with your child—learning their favorite color, TV show, or game—to help them feel at ease. I understand every child has confident days and shy days (even my own son, who’s grown up around cameras, needs time to warm up sometimes!). That’s okay. I work at their pace, creating a space where their real personality can shine through.

When I work with families, I don’t just show up with a camera. I create a fun-filled, relaxed experience from start to finish. Because let’s be honest… standing still and repeating “cheese” over and over isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time!
As a mum myself, I know exactly how it goes. My son isn’t going to sit nicely and smile on command. He wants to run, explore, play, and have fun with mummy and daddy. And that’s exactly what I embrace in my sessions.
So don’t worry—if your little ones are full of energy or feeling shy, I completely get it. I love the chaos, the curiosity and the joy, where everyone can relax and just be themselves. Nothing feels staged or stiff, it’s about connection, movement, and making memories together.
Whether we’re strolling through your favourite park, splashing by the sea, or playing in your own back garden, I’ll guide you through the session with playful prompts and little games that bring out real laughter, real moments, and the magic that is uniquely yours.

I’ll send over a leaflet so you can get to know me even more and read through some frequently asked questions. I’ll talk through pricing and options for printing and, when you are ready, get you booked in with a deposit and a booking form.
Now the fun part, planning your session!
We will talk locations, what you had in mind for your photoshoot and even outfits and colour palette options, if you want to. I’m happy to guide you through everything and anything that helps you to create your vision! I’m here to help every step of the way.
Relax and Enjoy the Experience
It’s time for the special day! Relax and enjoy it, have fun and soak up the moment. Let the kids be kids and make sure to give them all the cuddles, tickles and kisses you can!
The best pictures are those when you’re truly enjoying yourself and just being you! My session typically last an hour but I’m flexible especially if you have little ones who get tired. For babies I always offer extra time for feeding and changing.
I don’t hold anything back, limit the numbers or charge extra! I give you everything from your session (minus the blinks, blurs and any duplicates).
Prints and products are available in stunning quality if you’d like them, but there’s absolutely no pressure. I know how expensive family life can be. These memories are so important and precious so should be treated as such!

It was VE day at school and the kids had to dress up in that era. My husband happened to take a photo of the kids riding down the lane on their bikes. We loved this photo so much we decided that is what we want on our kitchen wall so had to find a photographer to be able to take these photos professionally for us.
Ellie was able to come at really short notice.
The kids were totally at ease with her and she managed to capture some amazing shots.
Only a week later, she sent us all of our images to be downloaded! The photo quality is amazing and she even managed to make them look as though they are slightly antique looking which is the style we wanted!”
From Past Clients
Obviously the sooner you can let me have your dates the better as I can often be booked for certain dates. If you don’t have an exact date confirmed I’m always happy to pencil you in.
It takes a while to go through the pictures and make the edits. I usually aim to have them back to you within a couple of weeks but sometimes this can depend on the time of year. If you need them for a certain date then let me know and I’ll do my best.
I am mainly based in the Essex area and I am happy to travel within the area but if you have a certain place in mind outside of that area then I’m happy to talk through options with you.
Rain can actually make for some incredibly fun and creative photos, but we can always change the date and time is the forecast looks terrible.
